2008 Griffins Clear Day Roster
Hartigan conspicuous in absence...

The AHL released the team's Clear Day Roster this morning, listing the players who are eligible to play for the rest of the season and the playoffs. The only real surprise was the omission of the teams' leading scorer Mark Hartigan. Hartigan had been rumored to be staying in Detroit for the rest of the season, but now that rumor has been cleared up, and it looks like the plug has been pulled on the teams postseason chances. Russ Moyer and Brad Ference are listed as being in residence, meaning they are in reserve if an emergency condition arises due to recall, injury, or suspension, though at last glance ference was out until next year with a wrist injury. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, after their respective junior or college seasons are over. That is unlikely to happen, as most of the Wings' prospects are expected to have long playoff runs, and the lack of an AHL playoff berth doesn't help.
