Players are listed at the position they play most often. The players contract status is denoted in brackets, UFA is Unrestricted Free Agent, RFA is Restricted Free Agent, and a year denotes the expiration of the current contract.
The last piece of information is which club the player is under contract to, DET being the parent Red Wings and GR for the players under contract to Grand Rapids. Players in grey are no longer on the active roster.
V- Designates players considered veterans by the AHL. A veteran is a player who has played over 260 games in the IHL, NHL, AHL, and Top Tier European Clubs, and have turned 25 before July 1st that precedes the season opener (new for 2020-21). AHL rules limit the number of Veterans to a maximum of 5 dressed per game. Each team is also allowed one "Exempt Player" who has played less than 320 games.
