Organizational Comments: "Oh, he will play at the next level, for sure, He just knows how to play. He does things right, and he is an everydayer. When you are a coach in the NHL, that is what you are looking for. Glendening jumps right at me for sure. He does everything right, he competes real hard and he will challenge for a job in the National Hockey League in not too long." Mike Babcock - Wings Head Coach |
What GRC says: 2012-13: What a whirlwind season for the first GR native to play for the Griffins. He worked his way through the lineup and was centering a line with Hoggan and Mursak where he was a key cog in the Griffins attack. He picked his game up another notch in the postseason and was tied for third in Griffins scoring. The offensive numbers don't tell the whole story, as his face-off prowess, defensive game, and work ethic are key pieces to the puzzle. He was rewarded with an NHL contract with Detroit over the summer. Fall 2012: The CCHA's top defensive forward, Glendening went from walk-on to team captain at U of M and hopes to continue that upward path through Grand Rapids. Not noted for his scoring prowess, the Grand Rapids native gives 100% every shift and plays a physical hitting game.
