Pos: LW
D.O.B.: 4/7/89
From: Brampton, Ont
Height: 5'10
Weight: 195
Shoots: Left
Drafted: 2007 draft 5th rnd, 132th overall by Carolina (NHL)
Acquired: Signed to 2-yr contract by Detroit (NHL) 7/1/18
Personal:
Plus: Offensively gifted sniper who is a natural finisher... Best asset is deadly wrist shot... Great vision, and thinks the game well, always a move ahead... Capable of piling up points... Known for leadership and community work as much as for scoring...
Minus: Skating while improved is adequate at best... Offense does not translate to the next level... Streaky scorer...
Organizational Comments:
What GRC says: 2018-19 Vying for the league lead in goals over the first half, Terry fell hard during the second, posting only 2 goals in his last 15 games and 6 in his last 30. Once the scoring dried up, he was a shell of his former self, and teams would not even bite on him being used as a decoy on the powerplay. The lone bright spot for Terry was his season high five-point game, which came in the midst of a nine-game scoring slump. Signed for next season, the Griffins hope that Terry can regain his touch, as the former AHL scoring star will be counted on to provide offense.
Summer 2018 The reigning AHL scoring champ, Terry should replace some of the offense lost with the departure of Ben Street and Matt Lorito. The talented forward lacks size and speed, and doesn't power to the net ala Eric Tangradi, but uses his excellent anticipation to arrive in the right place before the play to convert an A+ scoring chance, usually with his wicked wrister. He has improved defensively from earlier in his career and has spent a couple of seasons in the NHL as a result. He remains a bubble player capable of big numbers at the AHL level.

Role: Scoring Winger
Projection: AHL Sniper
