| Of the Wings twentyone-man tournament roster, 14 were amateur tryouts, and the remaining 7 were Detroit draft picks. Future NHL'er Chad Larose and memorial cup MVP Danny Groulx were two of the tryout's cut after camp, although Groulx would get another chance the next year. Netminder Joey MacDonald played well enough for the organization to give him a pro contract despite not having a place to play him. |
