| 1984 was the beginning of the European invasion for Detroit. Seven of the Sixty-two players invited to camp were from Europe including veterans Milan Chalupa and Frantisek Cernik from Czechoslovakia, and four players from Sweden taken by Detroit in the 1984 draft. The seventh player did not attend camp, but would go on to make a splash in the league the following year wearing his familiar #85, Petr Klima. |
