Grand Rapids got revenge against the Texas Stars for the loss suffered yesterday night, holding on for a 3-2 win at van Andel Arena. The Griffins fought back from a 2-1 deficit in the second, getting goals from Lashoff (1) and Grant(3) to decide the game in their favor. Frankie Pare added a goal (9) and an assist, and Riley Sheahan had 2 assists. Netminder Petr Mrazek picked up his 7th win of the season making 26 saves.

Sheahan corralled a loose puck right in front and got it to Pare who showed great patience to move into the slot and wait out Campbell before lifting an easy shot over the frozen netminder. Texas evened things up midway through the period just after a penalty expired when a shot by Fraser bounced through some bodies and slid into the net next to Mrazek. The stars took the lead three minutes later when a three man rush took the puck right to the Griffins net and Fraser hit Sceviour right on the doorstep for a point blank slam. Shots on Goal: GR 11 - Tex 10.

Lashoff tied things up early in the second, lasering a point shot that bounced up and lazily tricked through the air past Campbell. Grand Rapids scored the eventual game winner ten minutes later when Paetsch's point shot bounced off the backboard and landed in the crease behind Campbell. Grant tried to get to it and was knocked down, pushing the puck into the net for his 3rd of the season. Nyquist got smoked by Sloan and went down. Andersson came right over and engaged him in a short bout before getting a game misconduct for not having his jersey tied down. Tempers flared and play started to get rough, looking like things were going to boil over. Shots on Goal: GR 12 - Tex 8.

Sheahan stole the puck and had a great chance in front but shot the puck into Campbell's pads. Good defensive play by Pare who streaked back to break up a scoring chance just as the shooter pulled the trigger. Tatar unleashed a hard slapper that hit Ferraro in the head. The speedy forward was down for awhile, but did not miss a shift. The Stars iced six skaters in the last minute but could net get possession in the Griffins end and time ran out on a 3-2 griffins win. Shots on Goal: GR 13 - Tex 10. For the Game: GR 36 - Tex 28.
