Wings Make Second Cut
Griffins Roster Starts to Take Shape...

The Detroit Red Wings cut sixteen players from their training camp roster today, including the first fifteen skaters that will vie for a spot on the Griffins 2011-12 roster. Assigned to Grand Rapids were netminder Thomas McCollum, blueliner's Sebastien Piche and Gleason Fournier and forwards Louis-Marc Aubry, Mitchell Callahan, Willie Coetzee, Jamie Johnson, Andrej Nestrasil, Frankie Pare, Trevor Parkes and Brent Raedeke.

The Griffins also welcomed defensemen Greg Amadio and Bryan Rufenach and forward Adam Estoclet who are signed to AHL contracts and were released from Camp with the Wings today. Nick Oslund a wings draft pick was also released from Camp and signed a tryout contract with the Griffins. Grand Rapids also announced that AHL veteran strongman Matt Pelech and rookie Joey Martin were signed to tryout contracts, bringing the number of players in the Griffins camp to seventeen.
